Kingdom of Bo

A penny saved is a penny gained.
A poor beauty finds more lovers than husbands.
A prudent man does not make the goat his gardener.
A rumor goes in one ear and out many mouths.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.

I have an in-built mechanism which does not allow me to lie, especially to my family members. That results in being an ‘open book’. It’s very easy to read my emotions and what I am thinking just by what I say and my facial expressions.
Is that a good or bad thing?
Whenever a murder or some crime takes place, interviews with the suspect’s friends or neighbors or family members always go along the same line:
“… he/she was such a nice person… never thought he would do such a thing…”
How often do you hear:
“… yeah, I expected that from xxxx…with a personality like that no wonder he/she committed that act… I am so not surprised… if I knew my 4D like I know XXXX sure strike top prize xia~…”
There are things in life which I keep to myself.
I am confident that I am not the only one.
The ‘open book’ that I am, if I didn’t keep something for myself, that wouldn’t be fair to myself. Rest assured, 85% of the time I speak my mind. Haha~
From time to time I do let the dark-side surface, but who would take me seriously if I were to really say what I mean? When I most of the time I am not serious and what not and … ok I think I am thinking too much… should I do some economics questions just to mess up my head?

The other day, while I was at work, there came a problem with one of the students and her friend was concerned about her behavior. Lower secondary students and their problems… anyway…the concerned student was saying that she could not understand why things were happening the way they were with her friend because what she was doing was not in ‘like her’.
Know what I am getting at?
Anyway, I have no answer to her questions.
Honestly, do we really know who or what other people are like?
Forget about the person in the street whom you might pass on the way to the market or school. I am talking about the people in your life who really matter.
Family members and friends in your circle of life.

Do you really know them?
Better yet, do you even know yourself?
Your personal capabilities, character, likes, dislikes, etc.
It is a class between who you are and who society thinks you are.
The people around you may have one perception of who you might be and you, on the other hand, might have a whole different image of yourself.
The person that you are is always changing and in that matter, you could never really know yourself that well.
My question now would be:
If you could never really know yourself, how can/could you possibly know the people around you?
Would you really want to know who or what they truly are?
What would you do if you knew them for what they are or could become in the future?
How do you feel when someone you ‘know’ does something ‘out of the ordinary’?
Feel surprised? Hurt? Intrigued? Mystified? Petrified? Angry? What?!
Is knowledge power? Or would acting with the knowledge be the true epitome of what is on your mind in relation to others?
Now I myself am not sure what I am typing about… O.olll

The last movie I watched before Kingdom of Heaven was Robots. The two films are poles apart. In terms of genre, money, acting, music, theme, location, time, etc. The only things they had in common were computer animation and Ivan.
Bloody price of tickets gone up… sian diao~
I recall going to the movies at the old, now defunked, Hougang complex with TKM when I was in primary school. Back then, the tickets only cost $4.50 each! Last time got student rate and adult pricing… we used to watch two movies in a day because it was convenient and affordable.
Now you would have to think 4 times before you take out the notes from your wallet. VCDs at Poh Kim or Music Junction a heck of a lot cheaper. All you have to do is be patient. In this world of rush here and rush there… would you be willing to wait?
That’s how the bloody capitalists work…
-envisions notes flying out of wallets all over Singapore-
Singapore is unique because we can watch movies at cheaper prices than overseas countries… whatever happened to the tourism slogan?!?!
-starts counting: 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… 6… 7… 8… 9…10…-

Arterial spray, gore, swords, sabers, grass, trees, honor, men, symbols, a woman, beards, lots of blood, bodies, vultures, horses, snow, the sun, the sand and the sea.
That’s about all that makes up the movie.
The theme is a thorny one.
Movie that makes you think.
My brother doesn’t really like the show but I for one think that it has some substance and the message is very clear so I guess if not for anything, Scott deserves praise for his effectiveness in putting the issues across.
Would I watch it again? - Maybe…but depends on who I am going to watch it with.
Would I buy the VCD? - Better question: Would I be allowed to bring the VCD into the house? Hahaha~

Do you see Bo bouncing all over the American Idol stage?!
Obviously you can tell that I am a Bo fan.
Carrie is good and had the ‘girl-next-door’ thing going for her… but I want to hold true to my theory… then again, after watching the finals just now… its kinda hard to tell who is going to win.
Carrie also has a big following from the Country and Western genre… the genre has the biggest fan base in the American music industry…
-see votes flying in Carrie’s direction-
The comments from the judges were swaying more to Carrie’s side and Bo was dealt more blows… as the pattern has shown from previous seasons, the contestant who sings the most original songs is the one who loses in the end. Bo was the one to do that ‘swey’ thing.
I guess all bets are off for who is going to be the winner of American Idol this year… so much for my theory… it would have be nice if my theory were to ring true…

I still root and wave my pom poms for Bo Bice.
He is the most original singer of this season. Ironically enough, I was rooting for Clay to win… gosh darn! Maybe I should start rooting for Carrie then maybe Bo will win…

So exciting!
I am finally going back to training tonight!
After more than a month of not wearing my gi, kicking targets and doing my taegueks… really very pumped and looking forward to getting back into the thick of the action…
